Press release European Heritage Day 2010
(22nd April 2010)
From open-air sculptures to small format paintings
Château d'Auvers-sur-Oise, from 15th to 19th September 2010
On the European Heritage Days 2010, contemporary (small) paintings and (large) sculptures will mirror each other at the heart of a site full of history and set in luxuriant vegetation.
European Heritage Days 2010
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, which attracted more than 12 million people in 2009 to French historic sites and other institutional places, the WHO'S WHO Art club international is organising a novel exhibition at the Château d'Auvers-sur-Oise, a partner in the Days.
Two different parts will potentiate each other by offering an inverted image to enhance one another in comparison with one another: large size sculptures, presented in the open air in the magnificent park and French garden of the Château; small format paintings (and similar techniques), to be discovered in the intimate setting of the Orangerie, the very beautiful room with vaulted ceiling and stone masonry that overlooks the park, which favours the discovery of the works.
To discover, meditate, or learn... while in contact with the works. To buy them directly from the artists.
An exhibition opening onto the world, with artists coming from at least ten different countries and invited to participate according to the criteria established in the on-line Charter of the WHO'S WHO Art club international.
Paintings (oil and acrylic), water colours, drawings, pastels, engravings, washings, red chalk drawings... and sculptures are offered for sale by the artists (no commission to pay).
An enlightening painting/sculpture encounter, off the beaten track
Small and large works, right under your eyes, each in their own environment... an exhibition in total freedom, along a path conducive to discoveries and dreams alike, among luxuriant vegetation and within some walls full of history (see plan to get to the exhibition on the leaflet pdf file).
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, from 15th to 19th September 2010. Every day, 10h30 – 18h30. Entrance free, except for the multimedia show “A journey among the Impressionists”.
